Experience is often the best teacher. I had been practicing yoga and meditation for years when life presented me with some great challenges, my whole reality had shifted. Many of the things I had come to believe in my thirty some years were proving to be untrue. Everything doesn’t always work out in the end; sometimes people die young and sometimes love just isn’t enough. My struggle left me sleepless, and after several months of restless nights, I began to seek help. I started getting massages and I created a sleep routine. Although, this provided some relief, my battle with insomnia continued. I shared my experience with my massage therapist and she recommended that I try hypnotherapy.
Initially, I had some fear around the idea of being hypnotized. My only experience of hypnotherapy had been a stage show and I wasn’t quite sure how this method would help with my insomnia, but I was exhausted and needed help. So, I decided to give hypnotherapy a try. My experience was wonderful! My initial visit showed me that hypnotherapy was a form of creative visualization and there was nothing to be afraid of. I found that hypnotherapy was similar to the yoga meditations that I had been practicing for years. I regained my ability to sleep and found a new modality that can be used to help with a number of issues. I knew that I wanted to incorporate hypnotherapy into my wellness practice.
I have recorded a number of “Hypnotherapy Sessions" that are available on the website to help you in your recovery. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, make yourself comfortable and enjoy.
Tips/Setting the Stage: When possible, use a reclining chair, burn some aromatherapy candles or incense, cover yourself with a sheet or blanket, turn off phone ringers, pagers, fax machines, put up a do not disturb sign, and indulge yourself, you deserve it!
